Catfish Kidd Cole Sentenced To Jail For Making Fake Threats -blogged by @eleven8 - Who remembers #KiddCole, the first #Catfish to get his Blackberry tossed into a river? If you don't allow me to break down the story. A few years ago, MTV aired one of its most talked about episodes of Catfish ever. The episode featured a woman named Lucille, who was tricked by a rapper/producer named Kidd Cole, who claimed to be signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D Music. To prove she was a down ass b*tch (and possibly land a job with Kanye), Lucille put up her own money to help book Kidd Cole shows, provide him limo service and in the end, got absolutely nothing out of it. Aside from the infamous Catfish episode, Kidd Cole was exposed by Virginia Commonwealth University for promising to book Big Sean for a concert, taking their money and never coming through. The school ended up suing him. Since then Kidd Cole, real name #JerezColeman, went through a mental evaluation, and was then brought on trial for identity theft/fraud -- to which he plead guilty. It's unsure if he served any jail time for that case but that didn't stop his criminal ways. Last May, Kidd Cole was arrested for placing 300 false threats against the Metro transit system to 911, between December 2014 and May 2015. According to prosecutors the calls "involved threats to conduct innate acts of extraordinary violence, detonating bombs, snipers firing on Metro passengers, suicide bombers boarding buses, threats to kill the President of the United States … They most certainly were intended to cause bedlam and disruption." In December Kidd Cole plead guilty to a federal charge of making threats involving explosive materials. He was sentenced to 21 months in prison earlier this week. Following his prison term, Kidd Cole will be placed on three years of supervised release. by balleralert
